FOOD AND BEER PAIRING: 4th OF JULY EDITION

WE ASKED OUR BREWING TEAM:
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO EATING THIS 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND?

Happy Independence day weekend y’all! Here at East Brother Beer, we take our holiday celebrations very seriously. Not just because it gives us an excuse to put down our bags of Malt and sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor, but also because it’s the perfect opportunity to gather the family and chow down on some delicious food.

You’ve probably heard us use words like “clean” or “approachable” when describing our beers. Those words aren’t just marketing speak - they are the key qualities that make our lineup of beers the perfect companions to almost any dish.

We asked our brewing team, connoisseurs of good beer, what they’re looking forward to eating over the 4th of July weekend and what they are pairing it with; some of their answers might surprise you. What about you? What are your favorite food and beer pairings?

“At my house, we kick off the holiday weekend with a big stack of Belgian Waffles. But instead of filling up my mug with coffee, I reach into the fridge and grab a can of the Oatmeal Stout. Nothing says I’m on vacation like beer for breakfast. I mean, the Oatmeal Stout is basically an adult Chocolate Milk.”

“It’s Brisket all the way for us! My family only makes it on special occasions, and the 4th is one of them. We cook our brisket for over 16 hours before it’s deemed “perfect,” a true work of art. The only thing I’m drinking with it is a Bo Pils. I want to enjoy the flavors of the meat, and the Bo Pils is the perfect balance of delicate and refreshing.”

- Taylor

“I like to keep things classic. So I’ll be throwing a couple of patties on the grill and treating my family to some burgers. If you want my opinion, the perfect burger is cooked rare and topped with crispy bacon, avocado, and a few slices of melted Colby Jack Cheese. I wash it all down with a cold Oatmeal Stout. Weird? Nope. There’s something about the Oatmeal Stout that just works with red meat; you just have to try it.”

- Jackson

“Nothing says 4th of July like a Bratwurst, preferably one that is a little on the spicy side. Regardless of what you top it with, you have to drink it with a Red Lager. The sweat maltiness harmonizes with the fatty goodness while balancing out the spice.”
